The dark, greedy, all consuming monster reared its ugly demonic head.
The Demon makes its intentions abundantly clear. It seeks to consume and hoard at any and all costs.
This demon tells the world that they can have it all if they save money, work hard, innovate, and structure life, so that money works for them, instead of the other way around.
The demon speaks to you about rules that need to apply to all in order for this consuming to be fair.
It speaks to you caringly and seeks to establish trust in its systems of gathering, hoarding, gambling, speculation, and consuming.
Then a strange thing happens, the monster shows a second personality. The Demon transforms right before your eyes from a being of caring and teaching, to a lust filled, frightening apparition, that now shows that its only intent, is to devour you.
This second personality uses every malicious, cruel, manipulative, trick it knows in order to get you to give your money to him, but not just your money, he wants your entire existence to be given up. He wants to own you for eternity.
You are buying a car today.
You need a new car quite badly.
Your appearance in the dealership parking lot has alerted the demon’s representatives.
You find yourself talking to one of the Demon’s lesser spokesmen, or is this man a slave?
You meet a man named, Rocky.
Rocky has a family, a life, a self-evident personality, and clearly serves the demon to provide for his family.
He is caring, non-manipulative, and quite happy to help you.
His accommodating nature however is not truly for your benefit nor for his own.
Rocky beckons and meets your every need in order that a tiny morsel may be laid at his feet. A morsel that keeps him and his loved ones alive.
Through the efforts of Rocky you find a car that you love and want to own. It is the first truly nice car you have ever owned. You earned this. You deserve to have this nice thing you have worked so hard for. You are accomplished and truly capable.
You notify Rocky that you would like to buy the car he so willingly let you test-drive.
It is in this part of the story that the demon shows his true face. He vomits double-speak. In one of his mouths he speaks of working hard to get the things you need and want while out of the other he makes it clear that ALL of his intentions are to take as much from you as he can.
You meet the next servant. This one is of higher rank and receives not just a morsel for his efforts, he gets to consume a larger piece of you.
His name is Mr. Workman, he is the “business manager” for this very small and insignificant part of the Demons empire.
It is Mr. Workman with his love of golf, and pictures of loved ones, who, while seeming so pure, seeks to take a big bite.
Mr. Workman lists six hundred and sixty six, very necessary benefits you can add to your car purchase that will provide you with security, and put your mind at ease about your purchase. It is with these “necessary” extras that the Demon so greedily seeks to take a larger piece of you.
Mr. Workman is well trained and is a valued spokes man of the Demon.
He tries to convince you that you need bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage in order to protect your purchase. This will only cost you an extra piece of yourself.
“You need insurance-gap coverage, in case you get in an accident. Your car is priced at a higher price than its current value after all. You know because of inflation.”
“We will also offer you oil changes, tire rotations, and basic inspections for the life of the car if you give us a piece of your wellbeing!”
Only a vigilant guardian of self, will have the strength and will to resist these false securities the Demon offers.
They are so enticing because they appear at first glance to be for your benefit.
Only a questioning mind can learn to see these benefits for what they are: nearly invisible translucent mosquitos that secretly take much more than they claim to give. These mosquitos don’t leave behind an itch, they take parts of you that you can never get back and give them to the demon.
It is on this day that the Demon and his servant Mr. Workman underestimate you.
You are well trained in his deceptions, your vigilance ensures that the Demon and his slaves did not take more of you than was absolutely necessary.
When dealing with the Demon, it is easy for one to lose their life, their freedom, and their will to live.
