The Imperfect Human

Politicians are attacked.

Their sins broadcast for all to see.

What is the result of such actions?

Is this fear tactic used to keep the best of us out of public office?

Can anyone stay honest when actions like these are used against them?

Thankfully I have learned to see human fallibility as a strength.

I have never been inspired by the idea of perfect beings.

I cannot relate.

Yet why do I feel so inspired when a fallible, weak, imperfect, human being, takes a better path?

The answer is simple.

I CAN relate.

Whenever I see the imperfect, mistake prone, fearful, people, rise above the filth around them and stand tall, I see what makes humanity so special.

In our weakness and in our imperfections we CAN learn from painful mistakes.

We CAN learn to see the strength in our weakness.

Try it and you will see that forgiveness of self and others requires no divine mandate.

All that is required is the acceptance that humans can be taught to grow through the painful agitation of fallibility.

Those who dare to learn from their past have true courage.

These souls may rarely have to fear for their physical lives.

They MUST face instead the fear of lost reputation.

Yet in this fear a bright light shines.

This light shows the courageous, the path to wellness, the path to improvement.

The bright light of a weak and humbled human taking a stand to better the world.

So let them speak of your sins and wallow in muck.

You stand apart from the filth.

You have become a light.

You have grown.
